About Dr. Waddell

Dr. Bradford Waddell is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon at Carrell Clinic in Dallas and Frisco, Texas, specializing in hip and knee replacement. His practice is focused on helping active patients return to the things they love, from golf and tennis to the gym and time with family.

Dr. Waddell's techniques are designed to preserve muscle and support a faster recovery. These include anterior hip replacement, muscle- and tendon-sparing knee replacement (the subvastus approach, which avoids cutting the quadriceps muscle and tendon), and robotics- and AI-assisted hip and partial or total knee replacement, which allows each procedure to be tailored to the patient's anatomy. He cares for patients throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including athletes and former professional athletes who expect to remain active after surgery. He also performs complex hip and knee revision surgery for patients experiencing problems with a previous joint replacement.

Dr. Waddell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed advanced fellowship training in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

A contributor to the field through research and health policy, Dr. Waddell has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, given more than 100 national and international presentations, and completed a two-year health policy fellowship with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Waddell is active in local charities and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and their three sons, Sutton, George, and James.
