My Comeback Story: Rick W.
As an employee who spent 11 years working at the Carrell Clinic and retired in February 2025, I never had the chance to experience the surgical services provided by Carrell Clinic’s world-class surgeons. Instead, I was proud of the fantastic outcomes experienced by those patients who trusted their and their family’s care to our practice.
On March 2, 2026, it was finally my turn. I did well for a year and a half with conservative treatment, but the right hip finally wore out. Dr. Peters’ staff at both the clinic and the hospital were fantastic in terms of all pre-op services and preparation. Had my right hip surgery replacement mid-morning and was walking that afternoon, and home the next day. The healing period consisted of only 3 days using the walker, no pain medication other than Tylenol, and commencement of physical therapy less than a week after surgery.
By the end of March, I was fully mobile, did my 10,000 steps with only minor tiredness at day's end, and fully recovered each morning with a good night’s sleep. PT was fantastic, and it really accelerated the recovery. In April and May, I was able to fully enjoy our trips to California, Italy, Greece, Mexico, and Scotland. Cannot say enough on how “easy” the whole process was and how quickly I returned to full function. I know we provided outstanding services with excellent results for our patients; it was great to have that experience for myself. Resolving the hip issue has been a significant improvement in my mobility, allowing me to totally enjoy the retired life.
