I suffered with almost 20 years of back pain that culminated in severe sciatica and significant foot drop. I saw Dr. Hotchkiss and after a MRI, he told me I could have permanent nerve damage without a spinal fusion on L4-S1. I had been aware of my bulging disc but symptoms were very severe with terrible pain.
