My Comeback Story: Gary B.

From the very first visit to the clinic I was made to feel comfortable and at ease regarding my knee options. Dr. Waddell was very clear about all of the possible options. We started with steroid shots for several months, then coupled that with gel shots, then progressed to the surgery.
I felt very prepared and was looking forward to no popping, clicking or buckling.
The surgery went as planned and I was pleased with the process and the hospital care.
I scheduled rehab to start 3 days after surgery at Baylor Scott and White in Plano. I can’t stress enough how critical the rehab is! As the doctor told me- the first 3 months after surgery will determine the rest of your life. So, put in the work and follow your therapist’s plan. I was able to complete 16 visits and successfully complete my goals.
My range of motion and strength tests were great. I rang the bell and felt great. However, remember there is still much work to do on your own when you are released. Keep vigilant and you will see steady progress.
Notes:
Monitor your prescriptions and how they affect your body functions. Sleep, bowl movements and other side effects may appear. Talk to the office and they will be there to help.
Good luck and if you make this replacement decision- you are in good hands!
