Strength, Support & a Shoulder Hug: Debra’s Story of Relief After Reverse Shoulder Replacement
At 70, Debra D. lives life with purpose and passion. A retired professional who enjoys reading, dancing, and making wreaths for her small business, Debra stays active and creative. But when chronic shoulder pain started interfering with the simplest tasks, she knew it was time to find help.
“I immediately clicked with Dr. Klein,” Debra said. “He’s professional but at the same time, he’s human. He talks to you. He explains things. And he took really good care of me.”
Debra was diagnosed with advanced rotator cuff damage and underwent a reverse shoulder replacement with Dr. Jason Klein at Carrell Clinic in May 2024.
“Dr. Klein was exemplary,” Debra said. “I can’t say enough good things about him.” After several months of physical therapy, Debra made a full recovery.
“I’m not having any trouble with my range of motion. I can do everything I normally did before,” Debra said. “I did very well, very well. I would highly recommend a reverse shoulder replacement to anybody. And highly recommend Dr. Klein.”
The care she received extended beyond her recovery. While coping with the heartbreaking loss of her granddaughter, Debra says Dr. Klein and his team were there for her in a deeply personal way.
“They were so supportive of me through what I had just experienced,” she said. “That just showed me the kind of people they are—their character. They care about their patients.”
Today, Debra is preparing for a trip to Arizona with her husband. With her shoulder pain behind her, she’s embracing her family, her hobbies, and all the everyday joys she missed.
“Dr. Klein gives me a little shoulder hug every time I see him,” Debra explained. “They're just great people. And you don’t find that with every doctor anymore.”
