Sherri's Shoulder Replacement Story—“I've Never Been Treated That Well in My Entire Life”

When longtime educator and Wichita Falls resident Sherri W. needed a shoulder replacement, she knew she was in good hands with Dr. Jason Klein at Carrell Clinic in Frisco, Texas. Her surgery took place on January 15, and what followed was an experience she describes as nothing short of exceptional.

“There’s no adjective to tell you how great it was,” Sherri stated. “The whole place. I mean, I was overwhelmed.”

From the moment Sherri walked in, she was impressed by the warm, attentive care from the entire team. “We didn’t wait three minutes before we were called back,” she recalled. “And we drove three hours there—three hours back. So, it’s really nice not to have to wait.”

Having undergone 14 surgeries in the past, Sherri was no stranger to the surgical process, but this one felt different. “Dr. Klein is like an old country doctor,” she said. “He takes his time, and you can tell he loves what he does.”

Sherri was particularly grateful for how thoroughly Dr. Klein explained the procedure and her rehabilitation plan. “He even pulled out shoulder replicas from his pocket! My sister and I were amazed. He explained everything—why my bones were brittle, what rehab would look like, and even showed us his video blogs.”

That detailed approach and personal follow-up helped ease Sherri’s nerves and build trust. “There was no question when I left there that if I needed somebody, I could call 24/7,” she explained. “One day, he even called to check on me.”

Now, at 66, Sherri has regained nearly full range of motion in her shoulder—and no pain.

“Not many people my age can lift heavy stones—but that’s the only thing I can’t do. And everybody told me this surgery was going to be terrible, but that’s not true,” Sherri said. “I followed his directives to a T, and I still have nearly a full bottle of pain medicine. I didn’t need it.”

After retiring from 36 years of teaching, Sherri now works part-time at a local boutique, reconnecting with her community and proudly sharing her story with anyone who asks.

“People come in and they want to know where I went, and I say, ‘Dr. Jason Klein, Carrell Clinic,’” she said. Then, she’ll demonstrate her range of motion. “When I show them, I’ll say, ‘let me reach up and get this for you,’ and they're amazed.”
