About Dr. Tietze

Dr. David Tietze is a board-certified and fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine doctor. He specializes in sports medicine care for the shoulder, hip, knee, and lower leg. Dr. Tietze focuses on delivering individualized care focused on each patient’s needs. He works closely with his patients to help them understand their diagnosis and make the best possible choices for their care.

Born in Edmond, Oklahoma, and raised in Tulsa, Dr. Tietze received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He then earned his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City before completing his internal medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He went on to further specialize in primary care sports medicine and completed a fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, learning the latest, proven techniques in nonsurgical care for bone, joint, muscle, and nerve-related injuries in athletes and active individuals.

In his practice, Dr. Tietze’s personal philosophy is that both patients and doctors are partners in addressing medical concerns. He is focused on helping educate patients in their diagnosis and helping them make a choice that fits their individual needs. Dr. Tietze enjoys learning something from every one of his patients.
