Patients in need of specialized orthopaedic, spine and sports medicine care are encouraged to call (214) 220-2468 to be seen by a Carrell Clinic expert.

The practice was established in 1921 by leading orthopaedic experts, including Dr. W. B. Carrell, who was the first orthopaedic surgeon to practice in Dallas as well as a driving force behind the creation of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Today, Carrell Clinic serves as the region’s most preferred orthopaedic practice, according to independent market research. Through its world-class experts, staff and two office locations, the practice is able to offer area residents in Dallas, Frisco and the surrounding areas access to exceptional surgical and nonsurgical care for bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. To provide comprehensive, convenient care to their patients, Carrell Clinic also offers on-site services, including casting, durable medical equipment, in-office X-rays, a pharmacy and physical therapy and rehabilitation as well as the state-of-the-art North Central Surgical Center.

“Since our beginning in 1921, we have upheld a long-standing tradition of providing patient-centered excellence,” said Wayne Z. “Dr. Buz” Burkhead, Jr., M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in elbow, shoulder and sports medicine at Carrell Clinic. “While we have grown and evolved through so many years of service, our commitment to the tradition of excellence at our foundation has never wavered, and it continues to be an important part of who we are as a practice today.”

As one of the six founding divisions of OrthoLoneStar, Carrell Clinic has partnered with other leading practices in Texas to form the largest independent orthopaedic group in the state as well as a top 10 national practice. Through a history of continuous, dedicated specialty care for area communities, Carrell Clinic has become an institution of renown in present day. Home to a surgical fellowship-training program accredited by the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and led by a team of all board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons, Carrell Clinic has built and maintained a reputation of high-level care, innovation and expertise.
