Dallas County Mandate Requiring Masks at Businesses
Dallas County commissioners voted to mandate that businesses in the county must require customers and everyone on premises to wear a mask or face covering to contain the spread of COVID-19 as cases continue to climb. There was a record 413 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Dallas County on Wednesday.
The order states that “all employees or visitors to the commercial entity’s business premises or other facilities wear face coverings in an area or while performing an activity which will necessarily involve close contact or proximity to co-workers or the public where six feet of separation is not feasible.”
Exceptions include exercising, when it’s a health risk or if the premise requires a security screening, like at banks, and do not need to be worn when eating.
Businesses that don’t comply can face a fine of up to $500 per violation.
The order goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, 6/19/20.
Visitor Policy: Our practice does not allow visitors, although there may be exceptions. For patients that require assistance or supervision, they may not bring someone with fever and/or symptoms of lower respiratory illness (e.g. cough or shortness of breath)
To ensure patient health and safety, and to comply with the Dallas County directive, all patients and staff are required to wear proper face coverings, including face masks, bandanas, or scarves, to enter our building.
Safety Measures We are Taking:
- Patients are required to wear face coverings.
- Each person entering the building will be screened by the following protocol
- Questionnaire regarding respiratory illness exposure
- Temperature screening
We are disinfecting each room between patients. Patients experiencing flu-like symptoms are being rescheduled. We are limiting the number of people allowed in our offices. We are restricting the number of visitors allowed to accompany a patient to no more than one with the right to ask the one accompanying the patient to wait in the car if we are too crowded. Telemedicine appointments are available for new and existing patients. All of our staff members are wearing face masks.
Please bring your face covering with you to your appointment. This protocol applies to each individual over the age of 2 years old.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
